Starting its scientific journey from 2011, KIST Brain Science Institute(BSI) has achieved a world-class standing in the field of neuroscience and become one of Korea’s leading research institutes in this area.
Due to its diverse fields of expertise, BSI is capable of responding to even the most complex problems in human physiology.

Various techniques-such as gene mining, connectome-building novel molecule synthesis, and microelectromechanical systems usage-serve as the driving force for our basic and translational research. Thanks to a workforce of over 250 people from different academic backgrounds and fields of expertise, BSI continues to strive for solutions to the most elusive and perplexing problems in neuroscience.
